Marriage and civil union applications are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Appointments must be made a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your ceremony.

In New Jersey, the marriage or civil union license must be obtained from the local Registrar’s Office in the municipality in which either of the couple resides.  If you are applying in Metuchen, one of you must live in Metuchen.

If both individuals are out-of-state residents intending to get married in New Jersey, they must obtain their license in the municipality where the ceremony is to be performed.

To schedule an appointment, email mmulligan@metuchen.com.

Prior to your appointment, you should complete page 1 of the application.  DO NOT complete page 2.  This will be done in front of the Registrar during your scheduled appointment time.

The application fee is $28, payable by cash or check.
