Thursday, January 24 between 10am and noon.

No appointment necessary.

 Due to scheduled equipment maintenance today, you may experience periodic programming interruption on local channel 15.


Update from Middlesex Water Company

on Water Transmission Main construction on Durham Avenue

For week of January 21, 2019, the work activities for the Middlesex Water Company Western Transmission Main project are anticipated to be as follows:

North of Route 287 - Borough of Metuchen

  • J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. (contractor) will continue 42-inch transmission main installation westbound of Desser Place on Durham Avenue.
  • J. Fletcher Creamer & Sons, Inc. (contractor)  will transfer services, install a hydrant, and complete a tie-in in the area between Jersey Avenue and Hampton Avenue.

The service line work and hydrant work will be in the roadway and will cause traffic issues between Jersey Avenue and Hampton Avenue.  There should be space for Westbound traffic on Durham Ave.

Special Drop-Off Days at Recycling Center
Residents will be able to drop off cardboard at the former DPW Recycling Center on Jersey Ave on the following dates:
Metuchen Dog & Cat License Application
All 2018 Dog/Cat license will expire on January 31, 2019. Fees are as follows: Spayed/Neutered dogs are $11.20, and non-neutered/spayed dogs are $14.20. Cat license fees are $8.20.

Elizabethtown Gas Pipeline Replacement Projects
Elizabethtown Gas has informed us that they will be starting gas pipeline replacement projects in the Borough on or about 11/5/18 through year end.
Main Street Streetscape Project
Last year the Borough received a Transit Village grant from the NJ Department of Transportation to replace sidewalks and curbing in bad condition on Main St. The project will also create two ADA compliant handicap parking spots on Main St as well as ADA ramps at the intersections.
