NEXT BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING
Monday, February 3, 2020
The Mayor will be hosting open office hours this week, in his office at Borough Hall on
Friday, January 24, between 10:00am and noon.
No appointment necessary.
On Sunday January 26, 2020, there will be limited on-street parking on Main Street, from the vicinity of Talmadge Avenue to Myrtle Avenue, from approximately 7am to 2pm.
On street parking will be limited to enable the collection of topographical survey data, to facilitate an upcoming Main Street corridor-wide safety improvement project.
The project consultant working with the Borough, Michael Baker International, will be performing mobile LiDAR mapping. LiDAR, which stands for light detection and ranging, is a safe, advanced laser technology, that captures more than 1.2 million topographical data points per second to engineering-grade accuracies.
The mobile LiDAR vehicle will be traveling on Main St ,and sections of some side streets, to obtain the most accurate data possible, which requires on-street parking to be restricted on Sunday, 1/26/2020.
The data captured by the LiDAR vehicle will be used to create the baseline needed by engineers and designers working on the various safety, traffic, parking and pedestrian elements of the safety improvement project.
You will see “No Parking” signs and some bagged parking meters on 1/26/2020.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this important part of the project.
