Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all active registered Middlesex County voters will automatically receive a Vote By Mail ballot (mailing date is slated for September 23, 2020) for November’s general election, as per Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 177. A limited number of in-person polling locations will be available for voters requiring special assistance or for the casting of provisional ballots. Despite COVID-19, every voter will have the right to participate in a free, safe, and fair election on November 3, 2020.
All regulations regarding social distancing will be adhered to at the polling locations.
We encourage all residents and registered voters to Vote by Mail.
The deadline to register to vote for the General Election is October 13. Applications to register to vote are available below.

POLLING LOCATIONS- 2020 ELECTION
A limited number of polling places will be open on Election Day, but you will only be able to cast your ballot in person using a provisional paper ballot.
In Metuchen, there are two polling locations for the November 3 General Election, will be
Senior Center located at 15 Center St, Districts 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13 and Metuchen High School Cafeteria located at 400 Grove Avenue, Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11 and 12.
If you are a disabled voter and need access to an ADA device to vote on November 3rd, please call the Middlesex County Board of Elections at 732-745-3471.
VOTE BY MAIL BALLOT BOX
Located at the Metuchen Municipal Building, 500 Main Street, located in back of parking Lot by handicap parking lanes on the sidewalk.
Middlesex County Residents may drop off their mail in ballots at this secure drop box.
This Ballot Box will be closed at 8:00PM on November 3, 2020.
TRACKING MAIL-IN BALLOT
A new website will allow New Jersey residents to register to vote and track their mail-in ballot all while on the go or from the comfort of their home.
This online form is safe and secure, and can be accessed anywhere – whether from a library computer or your smartphone, simply visit www.nj.gov/state/elections and click the link for ‘register to vote’ at the top of the page. All you need to securely register to vote is your driver’s license number or non-driver identification number, or your social security number.”

REGISTERING TO VOTE
To register to vote in New Jersey you must be:
· A United States Citizen
· 17 years old, and understand that you may not vote until reaching the age of 18
· A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
· Not currently serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction

VOTER REGISTRATION FORMS
Voter Registration forms must be submitted 21 days prior to any upcoming election date (forms are available at Middlesex County Link above or at the Borough Clerk’s Office). If you have questions about deadlines, please contact the Municipal Clerk at 732-828-2100 ext. 181
Please complete the Voter Registration and submit to the County Commissioner of Registration. In Middlesex County, the Commissioner of Registration is located at 11 Kennedy Blvd. East Brunswick, NJ 08816-9928
NAME, ADDRESS, SIGNATURE CHANGES
If you need to change your name, address, or update your signature, please complete the Voter Registration form above and indicate which change(s) is needed. Submit the form to the Commissioner of Registration in the County for processing.
POLITICAL PARTY DECLARATION FORMS
A registered voter currently affiliated with a political party who wishes to change their party affiliation must file a Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form 55 days before a Primary Election.
A registered voter currently not affiliated with a political party may declare their party affiliation up to and including Primary Election day.
You can print and complete the Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form and mail or deliver to the Commissioner of Registration in your county or you can also file it with your municipal clerk. These cards are also available at your local Commissioner of Registration Office.
The Commissioner of Registration cannot accept faxed copies or an electronic transmission of Party Affiliation Declaration Forms, since an original signature is required.
MAIL-IN OR ABSENTEE BALLOT
A voter may vote by mail by completing the Application for Vote by Mail Ballot and returning the application to their County Clerk.
To receive your ballot by mail, the application must be received by the County Clerk 7 days prior to the election.
A voter may also apply in person to the County Clerk until 3:00 p.m., the day before the election.
The County Clerk cannot accept faxed or emailed copies of a Application for Vote by Mail Ballot, unless you are a Military or Overseas Voter, since an original signature is required.
