Environmental Cleanup at 212 Durham Avenue
In accordance with NJDEP’s Site Remediation Program’s Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (TRSR) (N.J.A.C.7:26E), the owner of 212 Durham Avenue property will conduct soil removal and site restoration work on the northern portion of this property during the Spring of 2021.
The scope of work, plans and permits have been reviewed, finalized and stamped by NJDEP and other appropriate agencies. The project will begin preconstruction activities during March 2021 with completion planned for the Fall of 2021. Initially, site controls will be installed and clearing and grubbing of trees and vegetation in the excavation area along the north and south side of the Dismal Creek streambed will be executed.
In June stream flow controls will be installed and excavation of streambed sediments will begin. By the Summer any necessary off-site disposal of soil from the site is anticipated to begin and may continue into early Fall 2021. The soil excavation on the northern bank of the Dismal Creek will proceed in June 2021 followed by reinstallation of restoration of plantings while excavation proceeds to the southern bank of the stream.
The final restoration site work is anticipated to end in the Fall of 2021.
